A pediatric Occupational Therapist for 48+ years, Dr. Bev appreciates the urgency in building function, participation, and access for students through effective, efficient, affordable, measurable, evidence-based, and fun occupational therapy solutions.

With a BS in OT from the University of Pennsylvania and an MS and DOT from Temple University, Bev worked in a variety of treatment settings ranging from residential facilities to private homes, clinics to schools, and habilitation centers to sheltered workshops.  After authoring multiple publications on school services, Dr. Bev’s mission expanded to teach other therapists how to implement AOTA best practices, time-saving strategies, and progressive IDEA ideals by offering wide-ranging professional development workshops for therapists and educators.

A creative entrepreneur, determined researcher, and tireless professional, Dr. Bev is also the author of The Size Matters ® Handwriting Program, a concept-driven approach to teaching and remediating handwriting.  SMHP has been proven effective at a .001 level of significance in the largest research study ever done on handwriting. Currently used in every state and 5 continents, SMHP is quickly being recognized as the fastest way to promote legibility.

In 2010, Dr. Bev launched Real OT Solutions ® . Its mission, as both a product and education-oriented business, is to provide consumers – therapists, teachers, parents, and kids, with Effective, Efficient, Affordable, and Fun solutions to school needs.  Its catalog of materials, including the Size Matters ® Handwriting Program, enables children, teachers, parents, and occupational therapists to work together more successfully.

In 2015, she was recognized for her professional contributions and inducted as a Fellow into the American Occupational Therapy Association.  She is also an approved provider of continuing education through the American Occupational Therapy Association.

In 2019, Dr. Bev added keynote speaker to her resume. Abruptly donning caps of provider and consumer secondary to a personal tragedy, Dr. Bev redefined her views on parenting, relationships, communication, self-preservation, and her professional role in the schools.  This moving and yet, surprisingly funny address resonates with our collective humanity and has been received high praise for its inspirational message.

Ever in pursuit of professional outreach and collaboration, Dr. Bev is a national lecturer through ROTS, frequent presenter with the Bureau of Education and Research, and a member of the Advisory Boards at Temple and Salus University. She continues to mentor, research, and create, and endeavors to make Real OT Solutions ® the go-to resource for all consumers striving to promote competence and independence in every generation.
